Financial inequality and stability would be one place to look. Obviously. The European countries are at the bottom of inequality, the USA is closer to the top.

And many will argue with this. It's as if happiness doesn't matter to them. You sure would think that it would be the most important thing. No?

The goal should be finding the most effective point of equilibrium between financial opportunity and financial stability. A strong safety net without damaging the dynamics of capitalism too much. Looks like Europe has done a better job of that. But attaining such a goal would require effort and collaboration, which we simply no longer do.

Because the US electoral system is open to abuse, most people go into it to leech off the system, people don't get elected because they're going to run the country well, they get elected because they present the right image using millions of dollars to do it.

In Germany, their WHOLE FEDERAL ELECTION cost LESS than the most expensive Senate seat cost to win.

Why? Because they have Proportional Representation.

Well, it could have something to do with a certain country that touted the most magnificent healthcare system in the world....until Covid when they led the globe in mortality rate. That would be Italy, although I do think New Jersey actually killed more people by percentage.
