I'm a Canadian who's lived in the US for over 30 years. I don't get why so many Americans want to move to Canada.

Wait a minute, you said "Also, Trump and Republicans make people want to leave America."
Where are these people going?

Have to be honest.. I would never live in a "condo"
Smart people live on "land", no HOA, no neighbors for miles.

By chance, are you a manager of a sneaker store at a mall?

Where are people going? Back to their own countries I suppose. Or Republicans are leaving because they can no longer afford to live here. They want it to be as cheap as Mexico but notice they didn't make their fortunes in Mexico. So they made their fortunes here in America and now are going to go live in a mud hut in mexico.

Well then chances are you would never live on a lake. Can you afford a $1 million dollar home? That's what they are now. So I was lucky to find my condo on a lake for $58K. Cheap huh? Fuck yea it was. That's why I have so much saved and can pay $26K cash for a boat. I'm not still paying off a mortgage.

I'm thinking about buying some land. A 20 acre hunting property.

I was going to buy a $100K condo in Florida but I'll just keep using m brothers condo in Florida. He has 3 land and 1 condo. You know what they say? Buy dirt? I say "buy a cheap condo on a lake and watch the price quadruple in 20 years.

You suppose?
What is your drug of choice? What are you on?
Christ kid, do you manage a sneaker store in the mall?

Americans don't understand Canadas police state.

You will in time I presume.

This as-told-to essay is based on a conversation with Jim D., a Canadian who moved to the US when he was 27 and now lives in Arizona between Flagstaff and Phoenix. Jim, 59, asked to withhold his full last name because of privacy concerns. Business Insider has verified his identity. The conversation was edited for length and clarity.

I was born and raised in Fort Frances, Ontario, across from International Falls, Minnesota, the coldest spot in America — they call it the freezer of America.

Fort Frances is a little border town with a population of 7,000.

I grew up crossing the border. We were always running into Minnesota. Gas was cheaper, and groceries were cheaper. Our money was worth more back then, so we got more value for our Canadian dollar when we went shopping in the States.

When Trump becomes the President, the lefty liberals will be the ones wanting to immigrate to Canada seeing that Canada has become a lefty liberal Marxist paradise country for those imbeciles. :auiqs.jpg:

Honestly, no one is dreaming of moving to Canada. Never once heard anyone say they'd like it better over there. And I live in Metro Detroit. We go to Windsor a lot. Or used to before you had to take a passport with you just to go gamble. As soon as the Detroit Casino's opened that was it.

Anyways, Windsor is great. Compared to Detroit? Yea, I could see poor Detroiters wanting to move across the river. More jobs, safer, nicer. But no one who's middle class in Metro Detroit wants to move to Canada. No one.

Are these poor people? I'll have to go read your article.

And if you don't have healthcare here in America, that might be a reason why someone would want to move. Or if the person doesn't like our gun culture.

I have relatives in Don Mills Ontario. Their kids all go to school here in America but that doesn't mean they can stay after they graduate. They want to. And the young people I know who don't have degrees wish they could come here. It's not easy.

Also, Trump and Republicans make people want to leave America.
Wait until Trump takes back the White House
