So Milwaukee and Philly didn't exist back then, with bags of ballots that took days or weeks to count? You think this is easy? First you gotta figure out how many votes behind you are. Then you gotta bring in that number from the stashes, with plausible denial like "bu bu the paper didn't fit in the machines so we had to run them through twice!" Say ANYTHING to confuse the dumb sheep and get to certification day. Then call anyone who balks an "election denier" for the next four years and threaten to send them to jail for "misinformation." Adolf would've loved it.

How come they always managed to get a fairly uncontroversial result within a day or two, going all the way back to Bush v. Gore 2020?

You do realize that if elections are close, they need to count and recount.

If one candidate has 71%, what's the point of recounting? Even if you missed 5,000 votes, it doesn't matter.

If it's 49.9% to 51.1% you need to recount and recount to make sure you got the right result.

There is one and only one motive to stall releasing the results of an election = the motive to CHEAT
