Africa still does not have a continental power grid. Many rural areas still do not have reliable electrical power distribution. They still need gasoline powered vehicles.

I knew somebody who grew up in the Dakotas with no electricity. When I was a kid, there weren't even streetlights, you had to carry a flashlight otherwise, you couldn't see your hand in front of your face.
If I were Africa, I would not too soon give up relishing those simpler times, because once they are gone, they are gone.
Back in my day, we'd light a stick dipped in Crisco! You had a? Big shot!
And there are plenty of reasons for this. But your post doesn't seem to have any angle. Just "It's today today"Africa still does not have a continental power grid. Many rural areas still do not have reliable electrical power distribution. They still need gasoline powered vehicles.
fine, point out the reasons why they are so behind "today" vs everybody else, show some contextAnd there are plenty of reasons for this. But your post doesn't seem to have any angle. Just "It's today today"

looks legit, north africa is vast desert, no water, the middle part congo area has rainfall but what does that have to do with power? saudi is dry but has power from solar, oil and gas1) Development of areas is dependent upon abundance of food. Places which have had loads of food have become giants.
China, with its rice, was able to develop very early on. The area that is now Iraq also had an abundance of food 4-5 thousand years ago.
Africa has very bad soil for the most part. When I was in Lusaka I went with a dairy farmer to the agricultural fair. This guy was trying to develop cows that could produce a lot of milk. The local cows just don't. So they tried European cows, and they didn't either, because the grass just isn't good enough.

New Map of Worldwide Croplands Supports Food and Water Security
India has the highest net cropland area while South Asia and Europe are considered agricultural capitals of the world.www.usgs.gov

Here's a map of crops. You can see why China did so well. India has a lot and was strong until the British went in and messed things up. Europe has loads of crops, as does the area of the Middle East which is Iraq, though less so than before. The US has quite a lot of crop land too, though the east coast is relying more on the midwest these days.
Africa looks so sparce in comparison.
No, it's not the sole reason. But it's probably one of the most important.looks legit, north africa is vast desert, no water, the middle part congo area has rainfall but what does that have to do with power? saudi is dry but has power from solar, oil and gas
so they are behind because the entire top of africa is wasteland, is that the sole reason? looks like a poor excuse
likely they don't have the education and experience or money to have a solid power grid
last checked africa is POOR even with nigerian oil they piss it away.........which is why they are at this rate
too many people slurping up resources and it's only getting worse
Americans are avid wild game hunters, e.g., deer, duck, etc. Isn't that our bush meat?Africa is 200 years behind every other competent society
when your meal is bush meat from a monkey sniped from the trees.....well
no, bush meat is considered monkey meat and we don't have those here..........try againAmericans are avid wild game hunters, e.g., deer, duck, etc. Isn't that our bush meat?
All monkey meat is bush meat, not all bush meat is monkey meat. What you consider bush meat to be is only your uninformed, racist opinion. If we had monkeys here they would probably be hunted and eaten, every other animal is.no, bush meat is considered monkey meat and we don't have those here..........try again
