Former Vice President Al Gore compared the Trump administration to Nazi Germany on Monday, saying the president and his advisors aim to "create their own preferred version of reality" in order to achieve their immoral goals.
"It was [Jürgen] Habermas' mentor, Theodor Adorno, who wrote that the first step in that nation's descent into hell was, and I quote, 'The conversion of all questions of truth into questions of power,'" Gore told the crowd of about 150 people. "He described how the Nazis, and I quote again, 'Attacked the very heart of the distinction between true and false,' end quote. The Trump administration is insisting on trying to create their own preferred version of reality."

The icecaps are melting. The process will probably take centuries, which is too slow for TV and fundraisers, but there are practical effects today, especially in Florida and all the island nations with just inches above sea level, farmers changing their crops and schedules for what will grow in their land's new climate, arid cities running out of water and spending more on firefighting, etc. People can deny climate change is happening while they adapt.

Those of us who are older remember that in the late 60's early 70's there were environmentalists screaming about Global Cooling and we were heading for another ice age if we didn't stop polluting the atmosphere. But that trend reversed and the temperatures went up and they were forced to shut up. Then in the 90's a new generation of environmentalists started screaming about Global Warming and guess what? The climate started cooling a bit and they were forced to shut up. But then they got the great idea to call it Climate Change so they wouldn't be wrong yet another time.
