Didn't the Book of Mormon say the Amazon used to flow into the Pacific? I seem to recall a Mormon buddy of mine mentioned that a long time ago.Looks like The Book of Mormon is true after all. The Lidar has found a massive civilization in the Amazon dating about the time The Book of Mormon says happened.

Right. Mormons believe the garden of Eden was in Missouri.Looks like The Book of Mormon is true after all. The Lidar has found a massive civilization in the Amazon dating about the time The Book of Mormon says happened.
It doesn't prove the book of Mormon.
There never has been one shred of evidence of the civilizations that the book of Mormon speaks of, not one topographic bit of evidence or archeological bit of evidence.
Unlike the Bible which has literally tons of evidence from the small nails that held sandals together to large stone monoliths detailing history to manuscripts to archeological evidence. Coins, buildings, people, cemeteries, cities, plant and animal species, wells, springs hills, mountains and etc.
That’s the Book of Mormon time frame.Archaeological excavations showed that the site, which covers approximately 230 square miles (600 square kilometers), was occupied from roughly 500 B.C. to sometime between A.D. 300 and 600, according to the study.
Never said it proves the Book of Mormon. But, it does prove those of you who claim fraud way too early to be claiming fraud. It doesn't prove the book of Mormon.

Okay? So what? The time frame possibilities with the NEW findings in the Amazon with LiDar is within the parameters of the time written about in The Book of Mormon. Lehi and his family and friends left Jerusalem about 600 BC. They didn’t cross the ocean immediately. And, it would have taken several decades to grow their population large enough to start building towns and then cities. 500 BC would be a reasonable time period. The LiDar reflects this.33 A.D.
After his crucifixion and resurrection, Jesus Christ appears in the Americas and preaches to the Nephites. Christ's appearance inaugurates a period of harmony with the Lamanites that lasts 200 years, but eventually the tribes fall into conflict again.
385 A.D.
A Nephite prophet named Mormon has been writing the story of his people. On the eve of a climatic battle with the Lamanites, Mormon turns over the core of what will become known as the Book of Mormon, transcribed on gold plates, to his son Moroni. Mormon is mortally wounded in the battle at a place called Cumorah, and the Nephites are nearly obliterated, but Moroni survives another 36 years and adds material to the Book of Mormon before sealing up the plates in 421.
