Jeremiah Matthews, 23, is in police custody charged with the attempted capital murder of April Pikes, a Houston Community College police officer. Investigators say Matthews attacked Pikes with a hunting knife while she worked an extra job as security at a Houston area Walmart store.The attacker told investigators he did this to get back at police for their brutality. A spokesman from the family said it might be related to the Baltimore riots.
