I just noticed that a couple threads were already posted on this topic in the last few months. But since Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem just made an announcement yesterday, I figured I'd post a new thread.

I agree with what Thomas Massie, Catherine Austin Fitts and others have said about this. This is about control and it's just another way for our federal government to track legal citizens. Under the guise of immigration reform. But if people don't object, it's not going to stop there. Make no mistake about that.

First, this did not originate with Trump. It's been in the works for years.

Second, it is all pretty stupid. All you do is present the same info you presented when you got your license before and you get the new one noted as the new designation.

I have no plans on flying so I'll not bother until my current license expires.

This Act was passed in 2005.

This Act was passed in 2005.

I know. I posted a video saying that this legislation started with the Patriot Act.

The difference is, now they're saying that by May 7 it's required to fly or enter Federal buildings.

I've been ID ready since I was 17, almost 60 years ago.

Not sure what the big deal is. There are other ways of tracking you.
There is no more "off the grid". They know who and where you are. :)

Again, I know that this started a long time ago. People have been against it, but now they're pushing it harder, with this May 7 deadline.

And yes, it is stupid, but it's more than just stupid. It's one more step toward a "Paperz Pleaze!" digital surveillance state.

I have no immediate plans for flying either, but this is obviously making travel harder... and why should we willingly give up traveling just to avoid all these authoritarian scams?

Its more like what you need for a passport.

I don't see why you can't get a passport and register to vote automatically now.

the license is harder to fake. What is the problem with that?

This type of apathetic attitude is what leads to more and more restrictions, and if you think it's going to stop there, you are woefully naive.

Do you support proof of citizenship to register to vote like the new SAVE alAct?

If you have a cellphone, they already do.
It's like the people who tell me they don't use a toll tag and pay cash because they don't want to be tracked.
I then counter with, "what do you think that little flash at the booth is doing. Lighting up you license plate?" :auiqs.jpg:

Not sure if anyone knows, but some (older) passports can't be scanned like a drivers license can.

That was always baked into the cake is what I'm trying to tell you.

Or at least it didn't start with Trump.

They were saying this was going to happen since at least 2021.

I know it didn't start with Trump. I've said that like 3 times now!
