I installed the Dark Reader (DR) extension on Firefox to try it out. At first It was mostly great however there were a couple of sites I use that it broke. No problem, I just disable it for those sites. Unfortunately over time Firefox became slower and had some occasional hiccups. It also enabled some phishing sites that look like the original site but without full functionality. All my research placed the blame on Dark Reader. Sure enough as soon as I disabled DR the loading time increased rapidly with no more hiccups. Pretty sure the phishing redirects are also gone.
Too bad as I really liked that extension.

I have no problem with it...I use ad blocker and Fascistbook container too.

It also makes checkmarks sort of disappear.

OP uses Linux....My Firefox has been running shitty on my Linux machine lately....I'll disable DR and see what I get.

Actually I'm running it on my Mac Mini.
I rarely use my browsers on my Win11 machine. No DR on the Firefox and it still loads slow. I'm only running one extension (UBlock Origin). Click on Edge and it loads almost immediately...... Search if Windows slows down Firefox and all you get is Microsoft blaming Firefox........ That's to be expected.
