The move puts the Biden team in the curious position of seeking to maintain secrecy surrounding legal decisions of the Trump era.

The Justice Department on Monday released more of a key legal memoconcluding that former President Donald Trump did not commit obstruction of justice through his alleged attempts to thwart federal investigations, including Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s probe into ties between his 2016 campaign and Russia.

However, top Justice officials filed an appeal to try to keep the majority of that nine-page legal opinion under wraps, despite a judge’s order earlier this month requiring that the legal memo be released in its entirety.

The move to appeal the judge’s ruling rather than meet a Monday deadline for release of the legal opinion puts the Biden administration in the curious position of seeking to maintain secrecy surrounding some of the most pivotal legal decisions of the Trump era.

The Justice Department signaled its split decision on the disputed memo in a brief court filing submitted at about 10:30 p.m. Monday.

Shame on the Biden DOJ. We deserve to see that memo! Even U.S. District Court Judge Amy Berman Jackson thinks the memo should be released.

From the OP:

Earlier this month, U.S. District Court Judge Amy Berman Jackson issued a withering opinion that accused former Attorney General William Barr of being “disingenuous” when describing Mueller’s findings and found that the Justice Department was not candid with the court about the purpose and role of the memo prepared by Justice’s Office of Legal Counsel at the conclusion of Mueller’s probe.

In response to a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit, Justice Department attorneys argued that the memo was part of the process of advising Barr on whether Trump should be prosecuted, but Jackson said the analysis consisted of a post hoc rationalization of a decision already made.

And once again corrupt Amy Berman Jackson names pops up--------------she is the go to judge when the swamp wants violate someones rights and railroad them---....This is why the dems installed this corrupt female dog. she has managed to herself assigned to several of the trump people railroadings despite the lack of evidence of any crime----she needs to be disbarred and imprisoned.

Really? Got any "credible" proof?

I'm very disappointed with AG Garland fighting release of this memo. I expected more transparency from him. Why is he protecting Barr?

Of course they would fight it, it’s making the left look like fools with all their false accusations.

Because it was a big nothing burger. He wants to make it look like they have some dirt on President Trump, when they don’t.
