Season 7 of the Black Mirror series from the UK was released a couple weeks ago. Each season is anywhere from three to six episodes, for a total of 33 episodes.

This is an anthology and can be watched in any order, though there are Easter eggs planted in some episode which harken back to previous episodes but have nothing to do with the story. And one episode is Season 7 is a sequel to one from Season 4.

The episodes take place in the present and near future, with one exception which takes place in 1979.

Most of the stories take place in the UK, but some are set in the US.

The central theme is technology gone awry with a moral to the story. Very few episodes have a happy ending.

The creators of this show did a very clever thing. They made the first story, The National Anthem, so sick and so twisted that if you can get through it, then you will have no problem with the rest of the series. A cleansing of the palate, if you will.

Do NOT watch The National Anthem with children in the room. Seriously. Do not.

My favorite episode is Demon 79 in Season 6. Very clever, and very funny.

I saw the first episode. Glued to it I would say. Sick and twisted, yes, but with a gripping plot, very well directed and acted.

I've hesitated to watch any more episodes, thinking, 'it won't get no better than that.'

Could you recommend a next to watch for me?

I saw the first episode of the new season last night. "Common People" was a really interesting take on what happens when you meld the mind into an internet-like network, only to have it commercialized.

Rashida Jones was excellent.

Well, my favorite is Demon 79 in Season 6.

There are very few which I would not give top marks to.

You can see this series started in 2011. 33 episodes in 14 years. They put a lot of work and thought into each one.

That episode struck way too close to home for me.

I liked the part where she had to upgrade to get service without commercials

The part where the husband had to do dares online to pay for her service got a little sick

I agree. You know if Facebook or a Musk-controlled company develops brain implants, that is what we would all be turned into.
I have a family member with a traumatic brain injury. There is a coil, a clip, and a stent in her brain. It's a miracle she's alive.

About last year, or the year before, someone I met in passing recommended I watch 'The Walking Dead.'

For years I swore off horrors and said I'd never watch one episode of that show.

Anyway, I thought about what that person said, he said I would like it, based on the types of shows I said I liked, and he was so passionate about it.

Well I started watching it about four weeks ago and have been binge watching it as much as possible.

I'm in the final season and it's been fantastic. Aside from the stupid gory zombie stuff, it's really a human story of survival and community.

I believe I started watching 'Black Mirror' back in 2021, but I was on vacation and had Covid at the time so it's blurry.

I'll start over once I'm done w/'TWD.'

That’s a “callback”, not an Easter Egg.

An Easter Egg is a reference to other source material

My daughters are obsessed with The Walking Dead. My oldest daughter had a huge crush on the Daryl character. I found a women's T-shirt which says, "If Daryl Dies, We Riot" and gifted it to her.

I watched the first few seasons, but once the Nagen character showed up, it felt like the show had jumped the shark and I stopped watching. It also seemed like the special effects people were trying to outdo each other with the goriness of the zombies, and it was getting kind of stupid.

My youngest daughter has watched the entire series, the spinoffs, the prequels. She's nuts about it.

I like a lot of them but i generally do not like unhappy endings. I haven’t seen the last 3 seasons so I have some catching up but some that stuck with me were:

Crocodile (the ending ugh)

Shut up and dance (the ending ugh)

Nosedive (cute but hard watch at same time)

Hated in the Nation (movie length, I really really liked, some feel its slow)

USS Calister (Fun)

15 million credits (so topical and gripping)

White Bear (wtf?)

Men Against Fire and Metalhead (both episodes were interesting)

I left out other episodes some feel are the best but didnt stick with me as long.

I like Negan. As in love to hate him.

I watched two of the spinoffs first.

Nosedive was one of favorites since we're already kind of there - 1st episode of the 3rd Season.

'Fifteen Million Merits' is also good - the second episode of the first season.

I'm binge watching. Just started season 5.

Seems like the first 2 seasons are the best.
