"The Chinese government orders airlines to suspend Boeing aircraft deliveries due to soaring tariffs and rising costs..."

"According to sources reported by Bloomberg, the Chinese government has instructed its airlines to not only suspend the acceptance of new Boeing jets but also to cease all purchases of aerospace equipment and components from U.S. manufacturers.

"This decision is rooted in the skyrocketing costs associated with U.S.-made aircraft, which have more than doubled due to the tariffs, making it financially unfeasible for Chinese airlines to accept new deliveries."

China Halts Boeing Deliveries Amid Trade War Escalation

Trump is probably ignorant of the tens of thousands of Boeing employees in US states like Washington, Missouri, and South Carolina; however, they are not oblivious to his misunderstanding (or worse) of trade as a zero-sum game.

so sorry but our trade deficit to them is well beyond billions but they cry because they can't make a decent aircraft?
as of now they would actually be better off buying airbus which seems to have it's shit together

Seems CHINA is teh one looking at trade as a zero sum game.

Is that supposed to be any skin off our noses? I'm surprised that Trump would still even be willing to sell them a fuse. They are cut off: no jets, no parts, no shit, nothing.

Next up: make sure none of their spies here get jack from our universities.

They could make one just fine or buy from Airbus. They buy from us as a way to at least offset the trade deficit somewhat. It was the same way with soybeans. They simply bought from the US to offset the trade deficit. That was until the last time Trump enacted tariffs and they bought elsewhere which cost the taxpayers here billions of dollars.

IMO that is what much of this is all about. China made Trump look bad. Trump thought China would come groveling to him but they didn't. They dismissed him as the joke he is.

You are simply going to have a trade imbalance with a country that has a low standard of living and produces inexpensive items. Simple economics. Somehow the "greatest mind in the world" can't grasp this simple basic idea.

Strange how communism can order a company not to buy something or that they have to buy something! Sounds like the Democrat party

When it comes to technology and national security China endorses a zero-sum game, but overall it supports a more mercantilist mindset focusing on export-led growth, trade surpluses, and building self-sufficiency in key industries.

Mechanttilism is a zero sum game. They benefit at our expense.

That is the game they have been playing. THat is the game they are still playing.

Meanwhile, Boeing's total unfilled orders (before ASC 606 adjustments) stood at 6,319 aircraft, with 4,763—or 75.4%—being 737 MAXs.6 days ago

Probably already going elsewhere. Airbus have a HUGE backlog as well.

Nothing strange about American hysteria over China's communists refusal to allow US bankers to control their political economy in the same way they dictate economic policies in America.

Communism with Chinese characteristics has succeeded where the USSR failed--the economy, something devout capitalist Richard Nixon set in motion 53 years ago.

China’s rise and America’s decline spell conflict

"Joining the World Trade Organization (WTO), in 2001, has propelled China to global prominence as the 'world’s factory'.

"In the following 20 years, the Chinese economy skyrocketed from the equivalent of 13 percent of the US economy to 73 percent this year; a five-fold increase.

"In the process, it pulled hundreds of millions of Chinese out of poverty."

How have hundreds of millions of Americans fared under Wall Street's command economy over the past 20 years?

Mercantilism does qualify as a zero-sum game especially when contrasted with "modern economics" which generally sees trade as positive-sum where both parties can benefit through comparative advantage.

"They" meaning Chinese communists did not put guns to the heads of rich American capitalists and force them to export their factories to China; good old fashioned capitalist greed made that decision 30 years ago, and now it's whining about the economic success China has achieved by lifting hundreds of millions of Chinese from poverty while millions of Americans have dropped from the middle class into a gig economy.

Dupe, but those contracts will be scooped up by other airlines waiting for Boeing aircraft.

If the chi-coms are playing the waiting game they can now wait in the back of the line.
"The ban effectively prevents Boeing from accessing what it regards as one of its key growth markets, which accounts for approximately 20% of projected global aircraft demand over the next two decades.

Potential Impact of China's Boeing, US Parts Import Ban

"The impact is significant given that China's top three airlines—Air China (CA), China Eastern Airlines (MU), and China Southern Airlines (CZ)—planned to take delivery of 179 Boeing aircraft between
2025 and 2027 (45, 53, and 81 planes, respectively).

"This is not the first time Boeing has found itself caught in the geopolitical crossfire between these two nations.

"China was the first country to ground the 737 MAX model after the two fatal accidents in 2019 and one of the last to allow its return to service."

Airbus appears to be the immediate alternative since it already maintains a significant presence in China.

Long term, China is also investing heavily in its domestic aircraft manufacturer COMAC to reduce reliance on foreign suppliers.

ChatGPT: "What options does China have for replacing its Boeing aircraft purchases?"

Seems CHINA is teh one looking at trade as a zero sum game.
Historically and strategically that appears to be true; however, is that reaction a pragmatic and geopolitical response to US attempts to dominate China's economy the same way it controls the economies of other sovereign countries?

Sounds like you should probably move there

Trump bringing down the price of jet liners! So tired of all this winning.

This isn’t going to bring down the price of airliners.

Boeing has just been shut out of one of the largest markets in the world.

It would make sense for the. To relocate some of its manufacturing capacity abroad to avoid the unstable U.S. government and its equally sable President,
