Presidential candidate Chris Christie knows who is responsible for the recent increase in violence against police: the Black Lives Matter movement.

"I don't believe that movement should be justified when they are calling for the murder of police officers," Christie said on CBS' "Face the Nation." Told that some individual members have been recorded calling for the deaths of officers, Christie replied that the environment is "what the movement is creating."

Christie also blamed President Obama for supporting #blacklivesmatter and encouraging "lawlessness."

That "movement" creates the false narrative that there is an epidemic of Police violence against innocent "Blacks," resulting in an inordinate number of unwarranted police killings of "Blacks."

To a population that has difficulty processing factual information (witness the reaction to the OJSimpson not-guilty verdict), this is tantamount to telling every YBM who gets into a confrontation with police that it is OK to kill them - it is justifiable.

About this and many other things, CC is right on the money.

Police Chief shot and critically wounded...

Marlin Police Chief Darrell Allan shot in Temple
Sunday, November 1, 2015 - Marlin Police Chief Darrell Allan was shot and critically wounded early Sunday morning while working an off-duty security job at a Temple bar.
Allan, 43, suffered a life-threatening head wound after a man shot him about 1:22 a.m. during an altercation at the Laid Back Lounge II, 301 E. Ave. B. The chief was in critical but stable condition Sunday at Baylor Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Temple, police said. He was scheduled to have surgery, but the treatment plan changed. Derrick Wayne Gamble, 24, was arrested by Temple Police and charged with aggravated assault against a peace officer, a first-degree felony. Gamble was in the Bell County Jail Sunday awaiting arraignment.

Marlin Police Chief Darrell Allan is in critical condition after being shot in the head at a Temple bar.

Allan, who was working with another off-duty Marlin officer at the bar, was trying to detain Gamble prior to the shooting. Gamble “pulled a gun from his jacket and shot the chief,” Temple Police Sgt. Allen Teston, a department spokesman, said. The bar contracts with off-duty officers from other agencies for security. The Temple Police Department prohibits officers from working off-duty security jobs at local businesses that sell alcohol as their main revenue source, Teston said.

Derrick Wayne Gamble, 24, is charged in the shooting of Marlin Police Chief Darrell Allan. He faces aggravated assault of a peace officer, a first degree felony.

Teston said police have received calls about violence at the bar, which is near the downtown Temple Police headquarters. “We’ve had some violent offenses there at that location,” Teston said. “Our presence has not stopped any of it.” Gamble has a criminal background that includes arrests for narcotics and assaults, Teston said. “We’ve dealt with him in the past, but nothing extremely violent,” Teston said.

Temple Police and the Texas Rangers are investigating the shooting. They are working to gather evidence and interview bar patrons, Teston said. Allan joined the Marlin Police Department in 2005 and was assistant chief before he became police chief in 2009. He suffered a broken femur and other injuries from a one-vehicle accident on State Highway 6 near Marlin in November 2012. He returned to full-time duty months later. Teston said the Temple Police Department is providing support to the chief’s family and the Marlin Police Department.
