Remember when conservatives believed the government shouldn't use government power to force a corporation to bend to the will of the government?

That was before 2017, when the conservative movement hadn't contorted itself to a cult of personality around an insane lying narcissistic grifting anti-American demagogue.

A North Carolina county decided to ban Coca-Cola vending machines in its office buildings after the company outwardly expressed criticism over Georgia's new voting restrictions.
North Carolina's Surry County decided to remove the machines after the Atlanta-based soft drink company released a statement on April 1 to express their disappointment over the voting laws passed in Georgia in March.

No "cancel culture" at all here. The county government just decided not to contract with a liberal soda maker.

Coca Cola wasn't run out of the county, its employees aren't pariahs. They aren't being cancelled.

The authoritarian Repubs enjoy playing Gestapo tactics the last 35 years of the drug war reved up by Reagan and the GOP along with the Dems. The GOP is liars and fakers.

Last 35 years? Did we miss something? Like eight years of Clinton, and eight years of Øbama, and any number of Democrat-controlled Congresses during that span. Not to mention Biden's crime bill.

Coke made their decision to get political which is their right the county made the decision to remove Coke machines from there building which is their right. All I see here is a company and county that exercised their rights. This won’t run Coke out of business and I highly doubt very many in the county are upset over it.

I will never defend the war on drugs ever ever ever. Biggest waste of money time and lives. And property.

o.0

They didn't "cancel" anything that I'm aware of. They chose not to buy, sell, or promote a certain product. It's not like they banned it from being bought. If they banned from the city or county... That makes sense. But from local buildings?
