On the movie - in comparison to Conjuring 1 & 2 - it fails woefully. Not even on the same planet as the first two. The storyline is actually not half bad, pretty good really. But the execution and acting is very "B" movie material. It looks like they got some "made for TV" actors instead of spending the cash to get better actors, and the movie suffers for it.
As a Horror film - in the horror genre, which is historically not exactly known for great movies, it is good. Worth watching. Just know it is no Conjuring 1 or 2.
As a movie, regardless of genre - meh. Okay. The bad acting and poor execution of the storyline are hard to ignore. But you will be entertained.
All in all. Disappointing. I suppose the franchise was ripe for a bad one.
