Conservatives Attack Democrat While Announcing His Death

Just throwing this out there.....

how respectful were people when Al Capone or John Gotti died?

I guess you weren't here for the Ted Stevens thread where some cons and a few progressives said it Stevens was a great public servant and that mentioning how he disgraced his very own service was irrelevant and an attack on Stevens.

The point is a man/woman who is a public servant and who serves well, but ends their career in disgrace does not get to clean the slate in death.

Rostenkowski admitted in life, that he would be remembered for all his actions in death.

It goes with the territory. Public life, public disgrace...

politicians are generally about as moral as gangsters......

Come on. Gangsters aren't that bad. They atleast provide the market with commodities that are otherwise difficult to obtain. Politicians don't provide that much.

FOX News has mentioned "Former Rep. Dan Rostenkowski, the Chicago Democrat who became the leading architect of congressional tax policy in the Reagan era but later went to federal prison for corruption, died Wednesday, a family friend said." -http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/08/11/illinois-rep-rostenkowski-reportedly-dies/

but unlike the cry babies concern over mentioning Ted Stevens' troubles (http://www.usmessageboard.com/current-events/128225-ted-stevens-dead-in-plane-crash-in-alaska.html), the Chicago Democrat said he knew "that my obituary will say, 'Dan Rostenkowski, felon,' and it is something that I have to live with,"' he said in a 1998 broadcast interview with Robert Novak and Mark Shields.

now that's a man to admire.

he did disgrace himself and his profession, but he moved on.

You do realize that the article you quoted from Fox was actually an Associated Press article, right? Did the Associated Press attack Rostenkowski? This same article is on most every news source, CNBC, ABC, NPR, Time, etc. Were all these news outlets attacking him as well?

Wow, you guys are really fuck'n slow.

Here, let me spell it out for you,it's called... s-a-r-c-a-s-m

d-bag posted this as a sarcastic reminder that many of this board's cons accused libs of attacking Stevens for merely mentioning his wrongdoings.

geesh!

Explain to me how telling the truth about someone is an attack.

If the aim is to hurt, it is. Telling the truth is not an end all, be all virtue. Many times it can be used as a weapon. Who hasn't had someone bring up ancient history during an argument? Using truth in a hurtful manner is actually a sin according to Sister Mary Everynun-I've-ever-known! :eusa_angel:

the greater sin is seeing sin where none existed.

when I posted that Stevens left in disgrace it was not mean to hurt. When people attacked that they projected their own illness on the statement.:eusa_shhh:

dante was serious...and rightwinger understood that...only after getting called to the floor by myself did you come up with this "excuse" for a thread

poor manifold....can only "bravely" respond via rep...

I didn't realize AP News was "conservative."
I didn't realize Stevens had been convicted and sent to prison, unlike Rosty.

So much for moral equivalence. You are either a complete dolt or an uber hack.

First of all, I don't see the alleged "attack" you're talking about. Second, why does someone's death mean we are suddenly supposed to say nice, pleasant things about them even though they were a total shit bag?

There's a time and a place to reflect on the ills he's done man. Dancing on his still warm corpse when he's got family and friends in mourning probably isn't the time

The douchebagh Rabbi is avoiding the point about the right always whining about their victimhood, while Rosty acted like a man and took responsibility.
