Where the wild things are
MK Dani Danon wishes to change the method disqualification of Knesset candidates. In his bill, modestly called the "Zuabi law" (named after MK Hanin Zuabi issue), the first bill to be passed into the 19th Knesset, he called for the election committee to decide that disqualification of Knesset candidates should from now on be under the authorization of 2/3 of Knesset members (Instead of 50%, which is now).

Bills aim is to increase the "threshold" required now, so that the Israel high court could not claim that the disqualification has unaccepted political background.

50% seems enough to me-----sorta----but there should ALSO be
firm FAIR parameters required just to bring about a vote---ie
brining the issue to vote should be---the difficult threshold---
or you will end up with PURGES

Rose, the problem is that the Israeli high court takes the authority where it should not have.

The government should lead its own way without Bagatz getting involved.

What's the deal with having the Knessed basic law, if the high court can dismiss it in name of what THEY believe is "justice", but the rest of us do not?

the voting thing allows a COALITION of members to gang up on one guy---
just to RECREATE the balance of power. In the US ---that JUDICIAL LAST
WORD thing-----would probably be the way it would be.
<i cannot bear the responsibility ----don't ask me>
