I find this guy loathsome, but raising the age of consent has been nothing but a "feel good" measure. Of course, if the teenager has relatives that beat him up, I would say there are mitigating circumstances.

Keeping stats about "child molestation" that include older teenagers just makes the 'records' of elected officials look good. The focus should be on pedophiles, and those who lure younger teenagers.
