DeSantis is right, keep marijuana illegal

Stay away from my gummies, damnit.

Interestingly, back in the late sixties, the CIA got involved in doing a psychological study of LSD to explore its potential for use in covert brainwashing-mind control sort of stuff, I suppose for programming agents or something, and while they determined that LSD didn't show the potential they had hoped for, the one conclusion they came to was that whatever the harmful effects of LSD were, it was LESS HARMFUL than alcohol.

And there is a liquor store on every corner.
Another short bit o' trivia regarding LSD. Back in the 80s I read a small paperback that was the report on clinical studies with LSD. The study included follow up at years after, maybe 10 years after. They polled the subjects in the experiment and asked the simple question "Was your experience with LSD generally positive or generally negative in your life? 85% reported it as a generally positive experience in their lives. Having experimented with it myself in my 20s I concur with the 85%

Well of course. You see, the 25th amide of LSD mixed with one other agent forms the perfect key that fits right into receptor sites in the brain that serve NO OTHER PURPOSE being there. It links both sides of the brain across the corpus collosum immediately increasing the IQ and creativity of the individual by between 10% to 200% far above the perception of an ordinary person. It may actually be a glimpse into man's ultimate destiny perhaps in another 10,000 to 100,000 years, so naturally the government seeks to suppress such a thing as what could be more dangerous than people walking around with IQs above 300, four times smarter than the people actually trying to run things for themselves.

It's legal here and I hate that. The whole thing screams of defeatism. The police are unwilling or unable to deal with marijuana users, so let's all just throw our arms in the air and legalize it so we don't have to deal with it anymore. Pathetic.
Exactly. We need leaders with balls.

Sure. But its risks need to be prominently presented just as they are with alcohol and tobacco. Currently they are not. This is the precedent for the lawsuits. Violation of the consumer fraud and deceptive practices act.
If I were to smoke some or be subjected to cannabis, I would suffer cannabis induced derealization disorder. Absolutely crippling condition. I’ve had to live with that threat for fifty years and now I see the pot industry hoodwink fools into exacerbating that threat.
Creepy place the culture has devolved to.
Some people with anxiety disorders shouldn’t smoke pot, it is never a good look for them. Some people with anxiety disorders, it levels them out. Its not going to make everyone have a mental health episode.

Sorry you suffer like you do with your mental health, im sure it’s not easy. Responsible adults should be allowed to make up their own mind on this issue.

Liberal Democrats want weed to be legal. They have succeeded in blue states, hopefully DeSantis can keep it illegal in the red state of Florida. We all know the problems with gateway drugs.

---DeSantis said Florida will have a 'big problem' with weed smell if marijuana law passes---

Weed is already legal here. I have my medical card. All it took was government fee and a 2 min. phone call with the weed clinics doctor about my "back pain".

The drug causes the disorder. People need to be warned.
Some people with lung disease caused by asbestos shouldn’t inhale asbestos dust. See?

It's hard to come to grips with the hypocrisy in the media and society in general. You can go to freaking jail for smoking a (legal) cigarette outdoors in some cities while the smoke from marijuana doesn't seem to bother the idiots who make the laws. They want Americans to give up tobacco because it is unhealthy but yet legalize marijuana. Go figure.

Long term use may cause some disorders, sure, but anxiety issues are usually there to begin with.

It is a plant, put on the earth by the nature Gods. Natural things are a blessing. Any adult can discern whether it is good for them or not.

Poison ivy is a plant, too.
Pot is dangerous and those use and sell need to be made aware of its risks. Warnings need to be law.
