Did you know that Canada is holding an entire town of Americans hostage?

Well it's no Siege of Leningrad where "The Road of Life" had to be made across Lake Ladoga but......Darn Hosers.

Very familiar with the border controversy of my state.
I frequently fish further east along the large border lakes of Voyageurs National Park and you better pay attention to your goddamn GPS as to not get a fine. Not gonna buy a Canadian license to fish the exact same lake. Usually go right to the imaginary line and flip them the finger.

One time though, we landed the boat on a Canadian island and stole a couple rocks for the garden.

Fuck 'em.

One of issues that piss off anglers visiting the Northwest Angle is that by crossing into Canada to get back to the US, you can only possess more stringent Canadian limits even though they were caught in US waters with more generous limits.

OMG they drive across an ice lake...that would be terrifying.
You get so far out you can't see land. Definitely not for the timid.
Tip. Drive with windows open, just in case.
Keep in mind the ice gets over three feet thick. The plowed ice roads are better to stick with if possible as the ice gets thicker not being insulated by heavy snow.

The fun part is when fishing, the ice booms like thunder as a vehicle passes by and you can see the water bob in your ice hole from the underwater wave.

Small ice shanty towns develop over the winter over structure in the lake bottom.

Scares the hell out of southerners.

Another reason your better watch you GPS while fishing.

Better not have open alcohol on your boat if you accidentally drift across the border...
No open container of alcohol is allowed on board a boat in Canadian waters
Fucking Canucks.
