Technically this is a darning foot.

Needed one, couldn't get one, made one.

Seal with some teak oil and it's done...

Might crack/check...only been off the tree a month. Hopefully the teak oil will slow the drying...plus it is a small piece.

so I get this right you are saying you made a piece of wood????

gotta love american ingenuity,,,

I was at rendezvous and made a spatula out of a piece of fire wood and had to ask to confirm it was period correct,,,
I have a piece of black walnut drying that will be a spatula... and one for a ladle...when I get around to it. You know how that goes.

I got two 5' diameter walnut trees that I want to make a lot of things from,,,just have to cut them down first,,so yeah I know about how things go,,
bitch is I need to cut them down to build the shop to make those things,,,

Update...

That little crack did expand as it dried...but the important parts stayed together...
