Doctors, pols urge earlier use of ‘miracle’ coronavirus drug cocktail

It’s an opinion shared by President Donald Trump and a growing cadre of physicians and some infectious diseases experts who believe that an effective way to control the spiraling pandemic is to prescribe the anti-malarial at the first sign of symptoms even though it has not gone through the requisite number of clinical trials.
Last week, the American Society of Thoracic Surgeons issued guidelines for doctors to use the anti-malarial if they are in the advanced stages of the coronavirus, but some physicians say that it needs to be administered long before that.
“In a pandemic, we need to be using presumptive diagnoses,” said Marvin Lerner, a retired Manhattan-based physician and infectious diseases expert.
A Rockland County physician said he recently successfully treated 350 patients showing early signs of the coronavirus using a combination of hydroxychloroquine, azithromycin and zinc sulfate in his office. Dr. Vladimir “Zev” Zelenko said the $20 treatment had “100 percent” success in his Monsey practice in a video message he posted to President Trump two weeks ago.

Although hydroxychloroquine is used to treat malaria, lupus and rheumatoid arthritis, the Federal Drug Administration has only approved it for treatment of COVID-19 in advanced cases of the virus and by the time patients have to rely on ventilators. Pharmacists in New York state are only allowed to fill prescriptions for the FDA-approved uses of the drug.

"Anecdotally", many doctors and other health workers who can get their hands on it are using it successfully as prophylaxis. You have to wonder the reasoning and logic of Gov. Cuomo and his brother 'Fredo'.
Please note, “On March 28, 2020, the FDA issued an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) to allow hydroxychloroquine sulfate and chloroquine phosphate products donated to the Strategic National Stockpile (SNS) to be distributed and used for certain hospitalized patients with COVID-19. These drugs were distributed from the SNS to states for doctors to prescribe to adolescent and adult patients hospitalized with COVID-19, as appropriate, when a clinical trial is not available or feasible. “ Nonetheless, Governors within Blue States refused to distribute and allow physicians to use the recommended cocktail of HCQ, the antibiotic azithromycin and Zinc Sulfate
nonetheless, NOTHING prevents any physician from legally or ethically prescribing this drug off-label for any medical purpose ... and thus one DOES NOT HAVE TO BE HOSPITALIZED to be treated with this drug!
It is inevitable that politicians would make common cause with those who create this virtual reality in order to gain the advantage in the struggle for power over people. The use of standardized off the shelf drugs to successfully treat the virus seems not to be sufficient for the Progressive Marxist Socialist/DSA Democrat Leftists.
Thus we have useful idiots of the White House Media Press Corps reacting with shock and dismay claiming President Trump is "racist" when answers one of their questions by simply saying "because it came from China, Chi-na."
