Harris Co. sheriff should terminate deputy who punched teen ATV rider, family says

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Nearly a month after a Harris County Sheriff's Office deputy was captured on camera punching a teenager, the boy's family is getting support from community activists, calling on the sheriff to discipline the deputy.

The family of Carlos Rodriguez, a high school sophomore, recruited help from FIEL Houston to press Sheriff Ed Gonzalez. The family and the organization, along with family attorney Alexandra Farias Sorrels, voiced their dissatisfaction with the actions made at this point against Deputy Bert Dillow.

They spoke in front of the sheriff's office on Wednesday, pressing on Gonzalez to terminate Dillow.

There is video of the incident- thug with a badge and a gun! And, as an aside the LEO was involved in a worse incident in 02

Once again we have a case of not following laws and then not following directions of law enforcement.
Once again, this "officer" is on desk duty- he's a thug with a badge and gun and over weight on top of that-

Sounds like the trash family and their kid are the thugs----------if a cop feels a need to punch you because you are being so bad-then in most old texas families, there will be hell to pay when you get home. You are going to have lots of xplaining to do when you get home.

Exactly.
The Father had to know the kids were breaking the law by riding unlicensed vehicles on the road and not wearing a helmet.
So yeah...trash family.

Parents just trying to cash in with a lawsuit.
They know their kid is a loud mouth hooligan up to no good.
But they want the big bucks, and will swear that he's a good kid and an honor's student.
So the city and police will cave in and pay a large settlement. ...

It's estimated that every adult in the US breaks at least 3 laws a day- do you know why?

Because "Americans" believe thought policing is okay- that being, what might happen if, that happened when, so guilty of a crime, because-

Apparently "Americans" are okay with that and don't believe true criminal actions should be punished- as in harming another or taking what doesn't belong to you- a long as it's sanctioned, "officially" it's all good- SMH a sad state of affairs we're leaving behind.

Like punching someone is "following laws".

In the video cop was trying to cuff the guy, he resisted and pulled his hands away moving them down towards his pockets...so yeah he got punched. Should got his ass beat when he got home but instead his parents see $$$ out of making him a victim.
