Dr Anthony Fauci questioned the origins of COVID-19 at a May 11 PolitiFact event

Asked if he's 'still confident it developed naturally', Fauci said: 'No, actually'

'I think we should continue to investigate what went on in China until we continue to find out to the best of our ability what happened,' he said

Fauci's comments came after he clashed with Sen Rand Paul on the topic at a Senate hearing earlier this month In front of the Senate Fauci said he could not rule out the possibility that COVID-19 leaked from the Wuhan Institute of Virology

On Thursday the White House renewed calls for an 'independent, transparent investigation' into the origins of the virus

It followed a report from Republicans which found 'significant circumstantial evidence' of a lab leak

Confidence in Dr. Anthony Fauci has decreased 42.2 percent among Americans in the past year, according to a Trafalgar Group survey.

Respondents were asked, “Has your confidence in Dr. Fauci gone up or down in the past year?” While 42.2 percent said confidence has gone down, 22.1 percent said it has increased, and 26.1 percent said it is unchanged.

When only Republicans were asked the same question, 50.8 percent said their confidence in Fauci decreased, whereas respondents with no party affiliation decreased 41.7 percent.

Twenty percent of Democrats’ confidence in Fauci decreased.

In contrast, in September 2020, KFF Tracking Poll found that 68 percent of Americans trusted Fauci to give reliable information about the coronavirus, only declining ten percent since April 2020.

Yes, he does chance his mind a lot. That's because he's a scientist. Politician will steadfastly support the party line regardless of new data. Scientist can't afford to.

What? Have you not seen the history of the Democratic Party leaders adamantly opposing stacking the court, illegal immigration, pushing for tougher crime laws etc. and then THOSE SAME DEMOCRATS spouting the exact opposite view today?

He knows what happened...He was instrumental in setting up and funding the gain of function experiments in Wuhan.

Fauci deserves the one-way helicopter ride,

Yeah, he thought it was a real good idea to make viruses more lethal.

See, nowadays they do this so scientists can work to DEFEAT these extra-lethal, extra-fast-spreading germs. So it's good, see.

They used to just call it biowarfare research.

Once again President Trump is proven to be right.
This is the kind of reason that I like Trump. He didn't do the denial-of-reality stuff that pols on the left constantly do.

Then how are we supposed to "follow the science" when it has more moves than LeBron?

You post is a totally irrelevant reply to my message, just SPAM but for your information, Anthony Fauci is not affiliated or registered with any political party, nor does he endorse any political party or candidate

You follow rapidly new developments in science in the same way you might follow a developing hurricane, making your decisions based on the best data you have at that time.

With any new scientific event, new data is published daily. Hypotheses which are just proposed explanations made on the basis of limited evidence are developed. As more supporting data of the hypothesis is found, theories are formulated and published. With more observation and research theories are tested. Overtime some theories become widely accepted, and others are discarded or modified. The more widely accepted a theory, the more it is relied on as a basis for more research and develop. This in a nutshell is the heart of scientific progress.

Political statements are based on beliefs, estimates, and hopes. Scientific statements are based known scientific data at the time which is always subject to change.

Sorry, day to day people's lives cannot be dictated at the same pace you would find in dealing with an approaching hurricane. We need facts, facts that don't change or appear to change every day, because we cannot react that fast....especially to bogus information we do not trust....the kind Fauci invents.

You will not get immutable "scientist facts" from any real scientist because those "facts" are always subject to change based on new data. People like Fauci who have spent most their lives in scientific research and development qualify their remarks with "based on the latest data" or facts as we know them.

Day to day people should listen to leaders in their local community as well as state and federal. There is a lot more to managing an epidemic that just the scientific data.

Bullshit.

Faucci lied to the American people ... knowingly and intentionally.

Faucci is still lying.

You would have to give Fauci a pop quiz in front of an audience, but first turn off the sound and watch only the movements, when he’s asked about special places such as position 484 of the COVID-19 RBD.

Thankfully, scientists make changes when they get new scientific data unlike politicians who must carry the party line regardless of the data..

If any gain-of-function argues against the lab-escape or deliberate lab-release theory, it is that at position 484 of the COVID-19 RBD, which shows no intentional manipulation. Only an idiot would leave it out of manipulations to make the virus more pathogenic to humans.
