3 years after seemingly hibernating creatures come to the surface and kill over 90% of the population in just a few days. But for reasons not yet known, the creatures will not go above 8000 ft. The few remaining humans clinging to mountain tops try to figure a way to kill the, so far, impenetrable armor of these monsters.
Sound a bit 1950's SCIFI? Well you would be right. A bit hokey.
The science in the movie is laughably dumb, but you don't really care. Despite this, and the pretty silly notion of the script - you are entertained. You are held in suspense several times, you want the characters to win.
Despite the flawed storyline, science seemingly written by a 4th grader - the movie is pretty good.

Worth watching.
