Ending ridiculous subsidies to get people to buy electric cars may indeed cut deeply into his American market. But he doesn't depend on the American market to sell Teslas. And if electric cars fall sufficiently out of favor, which I expect will happen, he will figure other ways to provide products people want and are willing to pay for. Elon isn't going to go broke.
