Let me call swords (=most guns) a basic sin, because a sword is made to kill human beings; so latest since this days not arguments decide what's the best to do but violence decides. Did God think the Roman oppression of His people was just fine, or did He have a bigger plan that didn't involve his people taking up arms against the Romans? Think for a moment, He had His people act against unjust governments fairly frequently in their past, to the point that a lot of squeamish westerners think it was harsh and unjust.
