Or..something a little more recent. One of my favorite SciFi movies. Good plot, excellent acting....and...SCIENCE!

That looks like science impossible, but most of the hollywood similar sci fi stuff is. Entertaining though.

Not to go too far off track but I'd suggest you read Kip Thorne's book on the movie. He was the movie's scientific advisor.

The movie is pretty solid in the scientific category. Sure..it's a movie in the end..but that doesn't mean it can't be entertaining and (mostly) accurate.

Part of a larger basic training rant that Hartman redid and riffed after Kubrick thought his original read wasn't good enough. I piss my family off every time they watch this movie because I've seen it enough that I can recite every word of it.
