Yep. Where I come from it was a standard way of life. Can't even recall seeing the inside of a grocery store until I was an older teenager, in fact.

I think the point is that the resources and energy it requires to produce this synthetic meat substitute have a huge carbon footprint.

This is one of those cases where the solution is worse than the problem.
