Asylum or Islamism?

Scandal in Neuss: Muslim young people want to enforce Sharia law in schools.
“Skandal in Neuss: Muslimische Jugendliche wollen Scharia an Schule durchsetzen,” Nius, January 11, 2024 .
In Neuss, North Rhine-Westphalia, four students are said to have acted as Sharia police.
According to a report by the Rheinische Post, which cites security sources, the young people between the ages of 17 and 19 publicly spoke out in favor of Sharia law and put pressure on Muslim students who had different opinions.
The students are said to have demanded from their classmates and teachers that all women at school must wear a headscarf. They also made further demands: the establishment of a prayer room, an early end to school on Fridays for Muslim prayer time and general gender segregation at school, especially during swimming lessons.
The Rheinische Post quotes from an internal paper from the state security agency, which states that Muslim students reported that pressure and criticism was exerted on other Muslim students because they were not “good Muslims.” In addition, they publicly rejected democracy and supported stoning.
The school management contacted the state security agency in December. The public prosecutor’s office was unable to find any criminal offenses in the students’ behavior. One of the four students was briefly excused from class.
“Like all schools, we fundamentally accept responsibility for society as a whole. Democracy education is not just our mission, it is our declared intention,” said the school management. “In view of our trusting cooperation within the school community, we are in constant exchange, negotiate our relationships with each other and dare and dare to speak openly about perceived contradictions and contrasts. We look, and by permanently placing tolerance and diversity at the center of coexistence, we demand the corresponding basic attitude from all of us,” said the school management.
The case has parallels to the “Sharia police” in Wuppertal ten years ago. The Salafist preacher and convert Sven Lau and other men acted as “Sharia police” on the streets of the big city in Bergen. They wore orange signal vests with corresponding inscriptions.
