Great Green Wall Some positive news for a change

This is great.

excerpt:

The Sahel region, a semi-arid belt that acts as a buffer zone just south of the desert, is most affected. Water, already scarce, is becoming scarcer. Soil quality is deteriorating, and a lack of vegetation is leading to food insecurity. The UN estimates roughly 135 million people who depend on these degraded lands are at risk.

Man's hubris never ceases to amaze me. We are now planting a 5K mile of vegetation to overcome the climate effects that are brought about by our refusal to preserve rain forests that are being destroyed at a record clip. Leave it to man to figure they are smarter than God.

There's only one "great green wall."
