Greetings from Michigan Swampbuck

Seems like an active enough message board, plenty of forums, lots of members, seems pretty good to me.
:welcome: It's great to have you here and I hope you enjoy the quirky to intelligent variety as much as I have for eleven years. Gracie said it best one time when she posted an OP asking why we come here and if it was like a "Cheers" thing? I think she put it in a nutshell. That was a couple of years ago I am thinking. I miss some of the rowdiest members but what is left is still the same somehow just less. LOL. Again, :welcome:

P.S. Love the avatar!

If I were a Cheers character, I'd be Frasier Crane, or Cliff Clavin, or some unholy combination of the two.

Like your avatar too. I've always been attracted to red haired women, probably due to my 25% Irish genes. Of course I like blonds as well, maybe due to my German side, but none of that explains my Sicilian GF, except that I got hooked to a good cook! Pasta does get boring though and I find I crave sour kraut and cabbage dishes often. :icon_rolleyes:

Just wandering around away from my usual haunts like ATS. Looking for some free open range in a shrinking wilderness.
Welcome to USMB, Michigan Swampbuck. Hope you enjoy the boards.

I've been looking into the Red Scare, McCarthy, the 45 communist goals, and other assorted things associated with the history of communism. I was unaware of The Communist Control Act (68 Stat. 775, 50 U.S.C. 841-844) in your profile.

From Wikipedia . . .

In 1973, a federal district court in Arizona decided that the act was unconstitutional and Arizona could not keep the party off the ballot in the 1972 general election (Blawis v. Bolin). In 1961, the Supreme Court of the United States ruled that the act did not bar the party from participating in New York's unemployment insurance system (Communist Party v. Catherwood)

But the Supreme Court has not ruled on the act's constitutionality. No administration has tried to enforce it. The provisions of the act outlawing the party have not been repealed, but the Communist Party USA continues to exist.

This law needs to be enforced in an extreme way - immediately, the Democrat party is infested with commies. Why is this still on the books, but ignored?

Welcome aboard.

If I were a sitcom character. . . most would tell you, I'm probably Jim.

Some people who love this country cannot wrap their minds around that Stalin was busy with bloodletting in the Union of Socialists Republic (his fellow Russians) during WWII when few people realized he exponentially killed more of the people within his own borders than Hitler's total body count worldwide. Russia, since the Wall fell on GHW Bush's watch, has puzzled many a country's leadership with its tendency to play "Divide & Conquer."
