American characterizations of good and evil in pop-culture art/literature represent a social focus on values-themes storytelling. Comic books, particularly, present descriptive stories about fantastic characters engaged in very unusual kinds of confrontations/engagements. There has been a recent splurge in comic book media, and it seems Hollywood (USA) is making countless comic book adapted films such as Iron Man and Wonder Woman.

The Marvel Comics super-villain Hobgoblin (Roderick Kingsley) is a jet-glider soaring and pumpkin-bomb throwing ghoul. Roderick was a fashion designer who mutated into the Hobgoblin after ingesting a potent experimental transformation-serum being developed by Oscorp. The CEO of Oscorp, Norman Osborn, originally ingested the serum himself, which transformed him into the Green Goblin, the primary nemesis of the heroic mutant soaring Spider-Man (Peter Parker). Green Goblin is also a jet-glider soaring and pumpkin-bomb throwing ghoul, but unlike Hobgoblin, Green Goblin's intentions are much more science-corruption oriented. Hobgoblin is a basic terrorist.

While Green Goblin symbolizes unnatural science and monstrosity, Hobgoblin represents anarchism and primalism. We can use such pop-culture 'avatars' to better understand social perspectives on anti-social behaviors.

Anti-social behavior evaluation is of course very important in this new age of network-driven intelligence (e.g., Facebook, European Union, NASDAQ, etc., etc.).

So how can we appreciate the civilization relevance of Hobgoblin in the context of our current commerce-oriented 'TrumpUSA'? Such a question might help us better understand/appreciate fragile relations between America and North Korea!

HOBGOBLIN: Humanity is fascinated by war...
SPIDER-MAN: Civilizations should avoid terrorism.
HOBGOBLIN: There's no difference between terrorism and profiteerism!
SPIDER-MAN: We have to discriminate between gluttony and wrath.
HOBGOBLIN: Why?
SPIDER-MAN: Gluttony may be a cheeseburger, but wrath is always hostility.
HOBGOBLIN: The 2017 Labor Day North Korea nuclear-fiasco was gluttony...
SPIDER-MAN: There are overlaps; governments may take liberties for granted!
HOBGOBLIN: Perhaps you are correct that gluttony is more 'tolerable' than wrath.
SPIDER-MAN: Well, both gluttony and wrath are anti-social behaviors.
HOBGOBLIN: Indeed, but wrath always requires a direct focus on self-control.
SPIDER-MAN: That's true. Americans like Halloween, since masquerade is escapism!
HOBGOBLIN: Maybe pretending to be someone else allows you to forget self-control!
SPIDER-MAN: Many serial-killers claim they were 'someone else' when they killed.
HOBGOBLIN: Will 'TrumpUSA' be a 'beacon' for pirates or priests?
SPIDER-MAN: It all depends on dystopian consciousness...
