President Xi eliminated poverty in much of the same way many Western nations lower the unemployment rate, they just change the definition. At least in Canada, it used to be "full-time, permanent" was a measure of the unemployment rate, now they have "contract, part-time, seasonal" and all other permutations of ANY work to be categorized as a member of the working class.

This is a convenient, yet sinister means to cover up for the failing system, a true reflection of our success it is not. Then they omit "unemployable" and other people the system decimates to ensure the numbers appear even more positive than reality provides.

In the end, we just become weaker and less of a global power, all for optics so that the least impressive among us can continue to milk the system, especially our creepy, covert police.

For a number of years Chinas poverty rate decreased, as China has grown, the Communist Party has been more involved in taking the wealth, and simply adjusting what is considered "poverty". Their mouth pieces in the West, along with MSM and businesses sell it, to show the "Chinese Miracle". These conditions would only be true as long as China doesn't keep their citizens happy with employmnt and the ability to earn money. The West does this for them so they are ok.

Trump understood that if the U.S restricted economic investment, or hit them with tariffs and sanctions, he could in effect, strangle the Communists. That danger is largely gone now and Europe stepped up to the plate deciding that they will prop up the Commies, since they just assume America will do the same and they will be left out.
