Yes...but

Instead of squandering hundreds of billions of dollars, our useless politicians could have given us a cheap, socialized healthcare plan; alongside with the standard healthcare we have in America. (The rich don't want socialized healthcare and the average person can't afford the system we have...so we need 2 systems.) People that can't afford America's unaffordable healthcare could get their appendix out before it bursts.

If they need a heart transplant, then go work 3 jobs and save up for 6 years to pay for it. The socialized plan would be for basics to keep it viable. But the American healthcare system is so greedy they don't want to lose a penny and would never accept a 2nd option. Plus, our politicians are absolute nincompoops and could never run a socialized healthcare system anyway.

We're talking about "Medical Insurance" to pay for "Medical Care/Treatment" as part of YOU taking Care of your Health.
We don't expect our auto/driver's insurance to cover oil change, tune-ups and new tires, same approach needs to be applied to Medical Care Insurance.
We need more variable plans in type of coverage and related costs/premiums.

If YOU don't live a healthy life style, get plenty of exercise, eat healthy foods and not too much, plenty of rest, avoid harmful substances of lifestyles, etc.

If YOU are fat~overweight~obese, out of shape, eating wrong foods, drinking and/or taking controlled substances, or other unhealthy living habits, I SHOULD NOT have to help pay for the damage you did to yourself !!!

Similarly, if you engage in risky recreations(/occupations); rock climbing, skydiving, extreme sports, etc. than again I SHOULD NOT have to help pay for your choices and results.

There is no "one fits all" Medical Insurance plan and therefore guv'mint "universal healthcare(medical insurance)" is a recipe for bankruptcy and declining quality. Also it is not equitable to all citizens. Those who advocate for such tend to be irresponsible for their health and greedy (want others to pay for their mistakes)!

What gets me about the " universal healthcare crowd is that they want to replace a handful of entrenched corporations, motivated by profit, with one corporation, run by the government, motivated by ....?
