Missouri governor: Pardon of 4-decade inmate not a priority

Republican Missouri Gov. Mike Parson says addressing the clemency petition for Kevin Strickland is not a “priority,” even though prosecutors say Strickland didn't commit the triple murder that put him behind bars more than four decades ago...
Several state lawmakers from both sides of the aisle signed a letter seeking a pardon for Strickland...
Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker has called for his release.
Federal prosecutors in the Western District of Missouri, Jackson County’s presiding judge, Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas and members of the team that convicted Strickland also have said he deserves to be exonerated.

"What if we just let out all the innocent folks!
Them bastards'll sue yuh!"

They need to engage in a criminal investigation of this...Governor to see what kinds of criminal acts he may be involved him.

If anything is found, throw the book at him.

He is a former pig so it is no surprise of his actions, yet he did manage to pardon his buds..

Justice????? after the summer of love...spying on a president by a former president....impeaching over a lie twice.....open borders breaking our laws....and you dare talk about justice????fuck off....

Missouri has a long history of having governors that seek to excel at their criminality and still walk scot free.

YES! Lets just start investigating people because they dont do things you agree with.
Idiot.
He is already under investigation over the multiple lawsuits of awarding MJ grow operations and dispensaries and have cost the state many millions that were slated for veteran causes...

Sounds like a bunch of people wanting the governor to quick fix their mistakes. Undoing a conviction and releasing a person is a process and should be followed. Throwing around pardons willy-nilly is not a viable solution until all the evidence and information has been examined by the governor's office.
It already has been examined by the governor, what makes you think it has not since the governor has already made a statement from the information examined in his office.

Good! Now it's just for them to prove his criminality and throw the book at his criminal ass.

BINGO

I would love to see the mountains of prosecutorial misconduct that lead to this conviction, but they want a pardon to keep it quiet and avoid judicial and State Bar inquiry.

THERE MUST BE FELONY CRIMINAL PENALITIES FOR PROSECUTORIAL MISCONDUCT, PERIOD!!!

Your ire is likely misdirected. Who prosecuted this guy? Look at those assholes first. They are trying to avoid a judicial inquiry.

Do you have a link?

It is going to come to a screeching halt.
With a Republ9ican majority they are literally screwing the citizens and yet they get re-elected, look at Josh Hawley...Look at Greitens the former governor who had to resign because of his criminality, he is running for US senate, yeah, a bunch of real winners.

Most likely because you do not have the guts or the character for the job.

So what would a pardon actually do? Shouldn't the conviction be properly vacated? Shouldn't the system work as intended, especially when the system itself created the problem? It's the immature need for immediate gratification that is the problem here, not the governor's office.
