Red State! Amen.

The opinion piece in the Post asks the right question.

Is the incredible Governmental waste we are seeing exposed by DOGE the product of long running utter ineptitude or the product of astounding corruption?

Stay tuned.

I'd suggest both.
"product of long running utter ineptitude" that for years (decades) failed to detect and halt astounding corruption.

Yeah, it's not like the dogie is firing Department of Energy nuclear personnel because they didn't understand what they did.

I hope Musk understands that paychecks to Treasury employees don't come through the Treasury but from the Dept of Agriculture, to avoid the conflict of interest in the Treasury paying itself.

But I'm sure this is really quite a new horizon for the government--- they like the Treasury, are usually only concerned with COLLECTING money not watching how they spend it, in fact, the more they spend the better to be sure to maximize next year's budget.

Saving money is an anathema to the Fed.

It is naive to think that there hasn't been a lot of skimming, pocket filling and money laundering when you are talking about hundreds of billions of dollars just ripe for the taking. How maddening to think of the TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS that were either wasted or stolen over the last 50 years.

Excellent article in the Post....A "No shit" moment from the Post states:

"This is all very basic stuff necessary to safeguard our taxpayer dollars, yet up to now our federal government just hasn’t bothered.

Why not?"

This is something right here that should make EVERY American mad as hell....At whatever point we will ALL be looking for our check that we've paid for over up to 50 years.

Now I know, I know, we no longer put in to pay ourselves, and that our payments alone with 2 others pay a recipient on average. That's a whole different conversation.

We are talking about massive fraud here...If true. That should make everyone mad.

I’m still astounded by the congressional research which reported recently (before DOGE) that over something like (if I recall) 40 years, taxpayers paid for previously Congressionally-approved programs something like $500 billion dollars for programs which has “expired.”

If not fraud (and I’m willing to believe that about dis involve fraud or theft) then it’s still massive and utterly unacceptable waste of
