Israel has notified the US that it intends to launch a limited ground operation into Lebanon that could begin within hours, a US official confirmed to CBS on Monday.

Other news sources have reported that an Israeli incursion could come within the coming days, which follows several Israeli strikes on key Hezbollah officials and infrastructure, namely its former secretary-general Hassan Nasrallah, who was killed in an Israeli airstrike in the Dahiyeh suburb of Beirut.

A public leak to the Wall Street Journal about small special forces targeted Israeli incursions into southern Lebanon to prepare the area for a larger attack, including starting to deal with tunnel ambush issues, also could be preparing the Israeli public and the world for the reality of a fuller ground invasion.

Since Israeli special forces are already operating in Lebanon, it is hard to imagine a larger operation is not imminent. Imo, the goal will not be to capture and occupy southern Lebanon but to pursue Hezbollah until it can no longer control any part of Lebanon and then try to make peace with a new Hezbollah free Lebanese government.

When the PLO in Southern Lebanon attacked Israelis, they invaded with the express purpose of removing the PLO from Lebanon.

The PLO hasn't been back since.

This is a good lesson and strategy by the Israelis. Eliminate Hezbollah from Lebanon and they gain 80% of their goal of peace in the north. Of course, they'd want a mature and credible government in Lebanon that will be able to keep Iran out of the country, but one step at a time is usually the best course of action.

I don't see where the Democrats can really complain about Jews here at all. President Wilson sent US troops over the southern frontier to find Pancho Villa, and B. Hussein O claimed to have sent US special forces into Pakistan to pursue Osama Ladin.

Why shouldn't Netanyahu be given the same latitude to pursue his nation's enemies?

The spoiler in the plan is that Iran's proxies are now capable of an equal or greater response, that's deemed suitable.

We can all at least be comforted that all parties are fully involved in preventing an escalation that will lead to nuclear war.

Therefore counter attacks against the Zionist regime will continue to be balanced and appropriate.

Is Netanyahu wounded or dead?

Double standards where Jews are concerned. The most obvious tell of an antisemite.
