My kid found a cat that was stuck in a tree outside. He got him down. He called the shelters but they were full. It's been snowing all afternoon. He and his girlfriend put the cat outside in her neighborhood but it was getting colder. So, now I have about a six month old black cat.

He's even cute-ish and is all curled up next to me and sleeping. He's sweet. Dammit. I just couldn't deal with the whole how could I let a kitty freeze to death guilt trip I created.

Thank you. One of the five indoor cats we have was up in a tree when I found her, and I climbed up there to bring her down. That was 10 years ago. No idea where she came from, as we live 15 miles out of town.

Well, if he keeps it up with all of his cuteness then he might have to be one of those Fancy Feast cats.

If you ever feel sorry for a cold wet cat and do the decent thing of feeding it and giving it a dry warm place to sleep, it seems like they call every cat they ever met, to invite them over. Before long you have a heard of unwanted cats, and no idea how to humanely get rid of them.
No good deed goes unpunished.

We just do to them what someone should have done to some people on here: Have them spayed or neutered.

I'm not doing all that nonsense.

Nope.

Right. 4 new cats. $85.00 each to have them fixed. That's not counting the strays that show up next week. That's not even counting all the new kittens those kitten factories spit out. Seems like they have a new litter every 2 days.

They're like deformed little people with no thumbs and a tail, but every one of them has their own personality.

I'm waiting to see his personality before I name him.

Reminds me of my in-laws who took in a stray cat years ago. Unknown to them, the cat was pregnant and birthed a dozen kittens. LOL. They had a hell of a time giving all those kittens away.

They got the cat fixed and it lived for 15 more years.

I found a cat eating my dogs few little crumbs from his bowl on the deck...he was a mess...skinny with wild fur and stickers stuck in it...so I took him to a vet before I fed him...gave him some water but wanted to get him looked at before I gave him food...he checked out and even made the photo wall of funniest looking cats at the vets office...he has been with me for two months and seems happy as hell...and the people at the vets office do not recognize him now...all healthy and happy...
And my Germain Shepard likes him...well tolerates him...

When I visited an old girlfriend, she had like 16 cats and four dogs, I had to laugh because she would feed the strays .

Every morning like 30 cats would come over and I over heard the neighbors say where does all these cats come from?

I have a pellet rifle and shoot all the feral cats on my property. It's a very quiet gun and the neighbors don't hear a thing.
It's estimated that feral cats kill over 3.7 billion songbirds in the U.S. per year. Which is why songbird populations have declined for decades. They also kill an equally large number of small mammals. ...
