I call it as I see it. This has far less to do with Trump and more to do with the inevitable. I've seen Fox headlines suggesting Trump was responsible. LOL, I mean what are these guys smoking over there? This was in the works for many months and most thought he was going to step down even long before the U.S election. Now he may have held out for some hope if Harris won as he could try to promote some poorly timed climate initiative or something, but it would again, be a long shot at best.

Trump has had my support since 2016 but Trudeau lead the longest government in Canada history, nine years. If not for covid he might have even had lost an election that wouldn't have been called as early as it was and at a time when the world was in disarray.

Heading to see Trump as quick as he did was more out of a desperate Hail Mary knowing he was unpopular within his own party and across Canada. Trudeau and the Liberals have been underwater in the polls for about two years.

Give Trump credit for getting his intelligence briefing and knowing that J.T was soon going to be out, even if Trump said he can't wait to work with Trudeau, In fact, it may have even hurt him more.

His time to step down was in the cards for a very long time. Not even a close relationship with the U.S would have provided a lifeline for him.

They are always embarrassing themselves with their analysis, and what they push, sometimes costing the hundreds of millions of dollars, as their own lawyers tell judges the talking heads cannot be taken seriously.

I agree Trudy did not resign solely because of Trump's comments but they were a significant factor which is what Fox News stated.
No it wasn't. Whether he met Trump or not, this outcome was expected for two years now. He's been heavily criticized for a long time from friendly media and within his own Party.

In fact, the opinion of many is that if not for NDP leader Singh looking to get his four years of service in for his lifetime full pension, a non-confidence vote would have been made long ago.

If Trump hits Canada with a tariff, Doug Fords career is finished since he openly threatened to withhold energy to the U.S. Ford is trying to pass this on to Trudeau because he knows Trump can end his career with a tariff. Doug Ford has always been a loser for Canada and Ontario. The guy is a mess with mush for brains.

Yes, everyone knows Trudy has been in downward spiral for awhile. We all remember how he attacked Canadian truck drivers like the little Woke bitch he is. Trump's tariff and annexation comments WERE a factor which is all that has been said.

Says who?

Leftism and progressivism lost huge... wokeisim lost huge.... there will be more leftist leaders losing or quitting....

There had been a lot of communications between Trump's team and Trudeau's people. It seems that Trudeau's popularity had reached untenable levels and it was only a question of time before Trudeau was forced out. With Trump's coming inauguration, Trudeau had the unenviable task of convincing Trump to back off from his threats to impose high tariffs on Canadian imports and prevent a mutually-destructive trade war.

Who needs that shit?

Why not just leave it to Pollievre to sort out, then blame him when it doesn't work out?

Is he resigning because of Trump? Sort of.

Are people allowed to have disparate views?
Sure you can have a different view but I guarantee.you that the number of.sources I have seen for the length of time I have seen them would far exceed the details you view in American media and other talking heads on social media. This resignation had been predicted by so many for a very long time.

This doesn't compute because Pierre won't be anointed into office until long after Trump has.taken power and ostensibly after he has dropped his tariffs on Canada and Mexico if he does.

So the timing is just a coincidence? Hmmm

OK

Resigning right before he's voted out.

A lot too LATE for that.

Regardless, good riddence to the Arabs puppet.

No, it had been in the works for.awhile.and there had already been immense.pressure on Trudea to resign well before.the election in the U.S. At best, Trumps victory just sped up.his Parties internal push for.him to step down. It can be confidently argued that the resignation of Freedland hurt him.worse politically than.Trumps.victory did.

She resigned cause she was even more of a loon than him, correct?

Are there Americans who don't know this?

Seriously...who doesn't know this?

I'm not defending Fox News as they can stand on their own two feet so to speak, but I'm not finding where they are saying Trudeau is quitting because Trump is President. Is a Trump presidency a factor in his quitting? Perhaps but who knows? I do find several Fox commentaries listing Trudeau's woes and developing unpopularity over several years now., all unrelated to Trump.

And the resignation came after it was publicized that Trump is rethinking and softening his stance on the tariffs though he has been firm that he doesn't appreciate Canada allowing illegal bad actors enter the USA and that's what the tariffs were all about. I am assuming that he and Trudeau worked something out on that when they met. since the meeting was publicized as amicable.

But for sure Trudeau was having major problems and probably was weary dealing with them whether or not they were of his own making. I'm pretty sure it was no specific or single issue that caused him to throw in the towel.
