Vice President Kamala Harris called for a "holistic" approach to affordable housing in the United States in her interview with MSNBC host Stephanie Ruhle on Wednesday.

Holistic meaning - "

adjective - characterized by the belief that the parts of something are interconnected and can be explained only by reference to the whole: "

Housing and the government as most intelligent people know, just doesnt work. When ever the government gets involved soon graft shows up, the area affected turns to crime and the people start suffering in many ways. This proves that Kamala Harris has no clue on the economy, but then again, if she was so worried about the people, she should of done something about 3 1/2 years ago.

Harris' Plan Will Make America's Housing Crisis Even Worse

More doubletalk from her. She wants to give first time homebuyers up to 25k to buy a house.

Imagine that. A politician's "job" is just to give away money. What a gig.
Thats for first time homeowners who are not already getting a deduction on their taxes for mortgage interest.

So consider this. You have 2 people making the same amount both paying $2,000 per month to live in a place. One has a mortgage the other pays rent. The renter doesnt get thousands of dollars back for their rent payments so they are not on an even footing when trying to buy a home.

She claimed she will pay for it all by raising corporate taxes.

Corporations are not going to accept lower margins. If corporate taxes are increased, then prices will be increased or there will be layoffs and cuts to employee benefits, etc.

She is pandering to the dumb fucks who are clueless.

What about the guy who moved to another state sold his first home but is now trying to get another home? Does he qualify and should his taxes be given to someone who hasnt proved that they can pay their mortgages on time? Socialism is what Kamala is pandering.

All it does is put people on equal footing when trying to bid for a house. If you dont already own one you are not getting a living expense deduction known as a mortgage deduction.

I hit post by accident before I was done.

I have been in corporate finance for 30 years. The consumer or employees pay for the tax hikes.
The tax rate of a company doesnt determine the price of an item. The market does. Anyone in corporate finance should know that. Did prices go down when Trump cut the tax rate? Absolutely not. They continued up.

As opposed to "tariffs on everything".

We are so fucked no matter who wins.

Why is it the .gov's job to see that there is "equal footing" when it comes to bidding on a home? Socialist much?

Either you can pay the freight for home ownership or not.....It's not my job (through my taxes) to help anyone become a homeowner.

The whole idea of "corporations will pay for it" is a total canard......Middle class Americans will pay for it through higher prices.

What's missing from your theory (and that's what it is) is how did the 2 people get the down payment to qualify for a secured loan. and have some skin in the game. Did they save and plan for this? If they did then that are on equal footing, and couple #2 have not done anything to make their position better. We just tried this with the CRA and the government, the fannie and freddy backstopped all the defaulted loans because people just walked away from all the "help" they received. You want to legislate behavior and self accountability and that is impossible. When these people default on loans and gifts they didn't earn it reinforces their belief that someone is against them and they need more gooberment handouts. Why is this so hard to understand?

It was talked about how Kamala's mom who had to save a lot to finally achieve their first home, was struggling through the Carter years, and when the economy got better under President Ronald Reagan, she was finally able to afford that house. So we see after 4 years of the American Dream ruined by Harris/Biden, it will take President Trump to once again, Make America Great Again, again, and make housing and life affordable to live in.

If the government created the unequal footing what is wrong with making it equal? There is no real reason to protest giving a tax break on first time homeowners one single year, the year they buy their first home, when currently homeowners get that break every single year.

So let me get this straight....

The .gov created a supposedly unequal playing field with my taxes and FKH plans on "fixing" it with more taxes that I'll have to pay.

Sorry son, that dog don't hunt.

Dude it isnt hard to understand. if you own a home you get a tax deduction that non-homeowners do not. If you give non-homeowners a taxbreak in a single year when they buy their first house it levels the playing field so that getting into a home isnt harder for them. Why does that bother you?

They are given taxpayer money.

Now if you want to start a go fund me for first time homeowners then Godspeed but leave the taxpayer alone.
