Keeping a sense of humor about my woke home city.

What do you do about a home city like mine? The city has a leftist newspaper, woke morning radio programming, and an alcoholic, drug-addled, liberal arts college. You can just laugh at it like I do, but nothing is going to change it at this point. Open up a box of popcorn and just watch it go down. Try to remember it as it was long ago. You have to keep a sense of humor. Look at the picture I am posting below of a flint-eyed bureaucrat. This is what they like in that city nowadays.

We know the local media here cannot be trusted as far as we can spit. Those that do trust the media are frightened and dangerous. They swallow propaganda like Kool Aid, and they toe a line that requires no individual thought. Skepticism? Well, that is conspiracy theory! The steps of the dance are rigid and enforced. Free movement and creativity are not encouraged. Stepping out of line is swiftly punished. This is not recognized.

It’s not that these people are hallucinating, it’s more like they are delusional. These people actually believe that democracy requires a powerful corrupt government that enforces democracy. Democracy is not something that is enforced, it is chosen. A department of this and a department of that are not necessary for democracy. Democracy is chosen by individuals, not groups. People around here cannot seem to figure that out. I don’t know if there is a cure for what is happening today.
