Naturally, this assumes Harris wins.

Trump allies test a new strategy for blocking election results

When a member of Georgia’s Fulton County Board of Registration and Elections refused to join her colleagues as they certified two primaries this year, she claimed she had been denied her right to examine a long list of election records for signs of fraud or other issues.

Now the board member, Julie Adams, an avowed believer in the false theory that the 2020 election was stolen from former president Donald Trump, is suing the board, hoping a judge will affirm that right and potentially empower others in similar positions elsewhere to hold up the outcome of elections.

To voting rights activists, election law specialists and Democrats, such actions represent an ominous sign that could presage a chaotic aftermath to the 2024 election. They are particularly worried about the threat of civil unrest or violence, especially if certification proceeds amid protests or efforts to block it.

There is a Rolling Stone article making the rounds pointing out there are 70 electors in 5 swing states who are avowed trumpist election deniers. Some of whom have previously refused to certify results on a county level. The examples below were for a primary election and the general election.

New Mexico’s Supreme Court orders county commission to certify vote

President Donald Trump has invited Michigan Republican lawmakers to meet with him at the White House on Friday, according to a Republican source familiar with the request — the latest move in his long-shot bid to overturn the election results.

The invitation, which was confirmed by a White House official, comes as Trump's legal team withdrew from its federal lawsuit in the state and after the president called two local canvassing board Republicans, who later sought to rescind their certification of votes in the county that includes Detroit, one of those board members told NBC News.

Delaying certification at any step could hold up or halt the process, potentially preventing the rightful winner from taking office.
Since 2020, county-level election officials in five key battleground states — Georgia, Arizona, Michigan, Nevada and Pennsylvania — have tried to block the certification of vote tallies in both primaries and general elections.

Are there sufficient legal remedies in place to deal with state officials loyal to trump, the batshyte crazy ones who still believe in the Big Lie, if numerous counties are not able to certify their results?

I guess the salient question isn't only what happens but also is this the updated version of the elector scheme? Insurrection 2.0.

Naturally, this assumes Harris wins.

It would depend on state law I suppose but they would probably declare the winner based on those counties that did certify their elections.

The electoral college elects the president

Yes.

In just one of those states they put 70 Trumpers in to election certification positions for 2024....

Near the same in other swing states....

The TRUMP plan is to CHEAT.....

He's been running around repeatedly saying he doesn't need more votes, he's ignored getting independents to vote for him, and saying weird stuff about not needing votes....

Let me be on record of saying his plan is to once again, stop the voter's vote, from being counted, from being certified, in 2024.

Certification is not a rubber stamp.

That's why people are required to sign their personal names to the cert.

Therefore they DEFINITELY, UNQUESTIONABLY have the right to examine what they're putting their names on, BEFORE they sign.

Basic contract law, upheld for centuries by every court everywhere.

If it turns out they only have "questions" about Harris victories around the country then that is going to be suspicious. If MAGAt election officials are going to alledge any "voting irregularities" then those irregularities should affect both party's votes.
It was ridiculous in 2020 when Trump tried to claim vote fraud even in those states where Republicans won congressional races.
It wouldn't work that way.
In reality there aren't any cases of widespread vote fraud on any scale that would affect election outcomes. In all the history of U.S. elections there have been very few cases of election fraud. Our electoral system is set up with too many safeguards and too much redundancy making it nearly impossible for anybody to "steal" an election.
That is why these MAGAt election officials that have been installed in swing states around the country better be VERY carefull with fucking around refusing to certify ONLY Harris wins.
Raising legitimate c9ncerns about any suspected votingi iregularities is one thing....but just stalling the results in order to buy Trump's team time to steal the election is a VERY serious crime!
These people could easily wind up in federal prison for election fraud/tampering if they're not careful.

Those Republicans refusing to certify election results better have a damned good reason that will stand up in court.
“My guy lost” is not a valid reason.

States are making it clear that certifying officials will be prosecuted if they can’t support their election claims

Not only that, but you can’t split the ballot

If you refuse to certify a Harris win, then you need to also not certify any down ballot wins by Republicans

They will be sued and judges will order enforcement. This will delay cert but not stop it.
