LFTR Thorium Reactors: Its Time to Change

China and India are moving in this direction, and so should we. There are only advantages and no disadvantages

The only reliable and clean source for power is nuclear. The new designs are safe and can help to clean up our nuclear waste sites by using spent fuel. Molten Salt reactors is another name for the design.

.

This is amazing CLEAN AND CHEAP technology.

We ONLY use dirty uranium because of our early start in nuclear bomb production and INERTIA keeps us from changing.

Nuclear of any kind is very expensive. Wind and solar are far less costly, and offer independence to the home owner. As more and more utilities embrace VPP's, a home owner can actually make money off of his solar installation while powering his home and vehicle.

Home owners are only a small part of the total need.

In order to power factories, cities, trucks, cars and any other electrically powered product or service you would need vast amounts of land for solar and similar amounts of land and/or sea for wind. Both wind and solar have relatively short lifespans and in many ways are not environmentally friendly. The other limitation is to regions where wind and sun are intermittent, with no possibility for power to be generated 24/7 365.

Nuclear (molten salt) is the only viable and intelligent choice for a non-petroleum based economy.

Virtually every statement you made is false. There are many methods of grid scale energy storage. Batteries, gravity, pumped hydro, liquid air, ect. Wind and solar, particularly with VPP's, can easily fulfill all of our energy needs for the foreseeable future.

thats only partially true,, if youre in the north where the sun days are low solar is of little help but in the southwest its stupid to not have solar,,

A friend of mine put solar on his roof 2 years ago in December, in Tacoma, Washington. From January through June, he paid not one cent for electricity, and received a check for $250 in July. Tacoma is not known for sunny days, and is well north of the 45th parallel. Yes, there is a limit north where solar is not that effective for 2 to 4 months a year. However, during 4 months of the year they get a lot of hours of sunlight.

Oh good, another miracle fission reactor is just around the corner. The problem is that for the past 50 years, it's always been just around the corner, a corner that we can never reach.

Conservatives, make sure you invest your money in this. If you want to lose it, that is. That is what this is about, scamming investors.
