Most of my time there was spent in an area which has changed little in 150 years and the streets are still barely wide enough for a single lane of traffic. I suspect the writer ( Kurt Schlichter),whose article this is linked to, is a fifth rate freelance who can only make a few groats when churning out sensational tripe and onions .
Certainly that article and your OP bear no relation to reality and I wonder if it stems from annoyance and even deep seated jealousy.
Namely, the stereotypical image of Americans over here is of overweight , unhealthy and loud mouthed people who are only known these days as bullying and badly schooled individuals with little available in culture and social graces .
These days we look down on Americans generally as a violent and untrustworthy tribe with a major personality problem and a nation that is headed straight toward the toilet U -bend .
