Really? A human count knows what’s going on, if you feed a million ballots through a machine, and that machine has a problem or is not counting correctly, you’d never know it.More than an automatic count, over the entire tally?

They are not counting votes for each candidate, only the total number of votes.
This is a good thing because, machines can make mistakes too. If something on the ballot is not right and it causes the machine to skip a ballot or if a machine double counts a ballot.
I’m not sure what corruption you feel could happen, it’s just counting total votes and election workers don’t cheat, so..
