Politicians, academics, and state officials in America decided that average people no longer needed company pensions and affordable employee health insurance, so those things were all done away with to foster a global economy. Those amenities were deemed too expensive to waste on rank-and-file Americans while cheap labor was available across oceans where those things were laughed at by foreign competitors. The result is that unless Trump can bring industry back to the US you and your children will never see them again.

All the government officials and higher education movers and shakers in the country concluded that those things were indeed essential for themselves, so they all get them in spades. This should have been evident when the Affordable Care Act was foisted onto the people. They quickly came up with clever technicalities and escape clauses for people high up in government to get the best coverage money can buy with your tax money. Your congressmen and senators get the Cadillac while you get the electric shopping cart.

When news reports like this are concocted they hope that you are to dumb to put two and two together and will be so blinded by media hatred of Trump that you be outraged by his attempts to bring companies back to the US. This is how people are manipulated, and it works. They hope that your heart will bleed profusely for government hacks that are parasites for a bad system.

Do not allow yourself to be fooled by this media sleight-of-hand. Trump is doing good work, and he is doing it for you.

Pensions are a thing of the past because private sector employers discovered they could save money by not paying pensions (either directly or through pension funds) and the Wall Street Money Managers figured out they could take a little known tax law (401Ks) and make billions by skimming a little off the top in fees.

(The evolution of our workforce from being a "company man" for decades earning a pension to the "mobile workforce" where people work a job for 3-4 years and then move on/up didn't help either.)

Amen. The resistance will be great because of the large number of people who are exploiting the system and their control of the media, education system and bureaucracy. I think Trump is our last good chance to turn this rigged mess around. It won't be easy but it is essential to assure the future of our country as a free, constitutional republic. My target is the same as Trump's-the swamp which includes Republicans that are part of that swamp. Trump is saying the same things now that he was saying forty years ago when he was a democrat-we are giving away America's heritage to foreign countries.
