Mega Million is Up To A Billion Dollars

I went grocery shopping this morning & as I walked out I saw the lottery machine...the mega-millions jackpot is just a hair under a Billion (with a "B") dollars.

I don't usually play...but I broke down & put a 10 spot in for 5 tickets...The drawing is tomorrow night.

Now...what would I do with a BILLION dollars?

Start with a Billion (1,000 million).

Cut it in half to take the "cash option" (500 million).
Cut it in half for taxes (250 million).

So each one percent would be 2.5 million.

Set up a trust who would cash the ticket.

The Trust would say I get 35% of it...one nephew would get 35% of it...and 30 other family members would get 1% (2.5 million).

That way if I croak...uncle sam doesn't get it all. And if a family member ain't happy with 2.5 million (after taxes)...they can go F**K Themselves!

last I checked does not matter if you win 2B or 20K the gov't automatically takes out 33% or so, then the state gets their share.

we need better rules, winnings might be income but its a chance game, if you lose your buck you don't get a refund and when you play the government does not kick in the same amount so why should they get almost 40%? 60/40 split is just robbery
