Rock Legend, 81, Refuses to Play Fan-Favorite Song: 'I'm Fed Up With That'

At a recent concert at Wolverhampton's 3400-capacity Civic Hall as part of his Alive & Kicking tour, The Who's frontman Roger Daltrey, had to deal with a very persistent fan who was determined to get the 81-year-old rocker to play their favorite song, "Pinball Wizard."

In the video, the fan can be heard shouting "Play 'Pinball Wizard!' 'Pinball Wizard!' 'Pinball Wizard!'", to which Daltrey replies, "I'm fed up with that. Done it too much."

Daltrey tries to ignore the fan who wants to hear The Who's 1969 hit from the rock opera Tommy, instead launching into a cover of The Kinks' 1968 hit "Days."

But the fan will not be deterred, shouting, "It’s not as good as Pinball Wizard!", to which Daltrey good-naturedly tells the fan to "shut the f**k up!" while laughing.

"I’m of a generation where Pinball Wizard was our favorite. Just do it!" shouts the fan.

"I can't play 'Pinball Wizard.' I'm the world's worst pinball player you've ever seen in your life. I don’t want to do it, ’cause I just don’t want to do it."

When the fan still won't relent, Daltrey finally shouts, "Open your f**king ears and listen to this. Much as I appreciate you, I am not going to play 'Pinball Wizard.'"

The fan's final plea is: "I'm in my 60s and I need you to do it!", but finally the other concertgoers get the fan to quiet down so that Daltrey can finish playing "Days."

Luckily, no shots were fired.

rock is a young mans game.....some of these old basterds look pretty pathetic up there...like angus young...

To me, that singer needs to remember what songs made them as well known as they are and if the people in the crowd still want to hear the song, it should be played.

God bless you and him and his fan base always!!!

Hey Karen wanted Pinball Wizard…

Rock concerts are too damn expensive.
Country music concerts are not that much different. I got two tickets to see the legendary Sawyer Brown band on June 6th, and each ticket $32.50 each including the fees and service charges. I am not complaining though because to me, you get your money's worth when the Sawyer Brown band is on the stage no matter what you pay, and they are more than happy to play their big songs every time that they are on that stage. :) :) :)

God bless you and each past and present band member always!!!
