Beautiful wood. My uncle had a hardwood planning mill, so I can relate.

I actually thought it looked a bit more like poplar.

Really? I'll admit that I'm not well-versed in tree types.

I just thought that poplar tends to have those broad bands of light green running through it, but it could have been an oak, in fact, the size of the truck suggests oak over poplar.
